Education Requirements

To become a radiologic technologist you must complete training from an accredited school. The most common training programs come in two forms: certification program and Associate’s Degree. There are two parts to the training process. Students first receive an education in a classroom environment and then get hands-on clinical experience. Typical coursework includes:

Radiologic Technologist Certification

Once you have completed your training program you must become certified before you can begin looking for jobs. To become certified you must pass an exam issued by the state or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. After you have successfully passed the examination, you can become certified/licensed in your state to begin working as a radiologic technologist.
